Little Art
has been a passion for Christopher since he was a young boy in England. While
at school he was offered an art scholarship to become a professional artist. Christopher
moved to Canada in the Centennial Year, settling in the Comox Valley in 1989.
Extensive travels through Britain, Europe, Malaysia, Singapore, Cuba, and North
America have provided him with a vast array of subjects and settings.
The statement "variety is the spice of life" is certainly true of Christopher's
artwork. With the vast range of subjects that he paints, he is able to appeal
to a wide audience. You will see birds, animals, underwater scenes, landscapes,
and even a hint of abstract on his canvases. Christopher tries to not
be a run of the mill, stamp them out, kind of artist. With the vast range of subjects
that he paints, he is able to appeal to a wide audience. Christopher
employs realism in his paintings in order to bring “art to life” on his canvas.
Using oil as his medium, Christopher’s eye for capturing the heart and soul of
his subjects is highlighted through his careful attention to detail and use of
natural settings. His subjects are captured in natural as opposed to posed positions.
He complements his depiction of wildlife with a variety of landscapes.
Christopher works out of his home studio, A Little Oil
in Courtenay. His art has sold across Canada, the United States, and Europe. Commissions
are welcomed. Christopher can be reached at his studio at
